Banjo Cottage

St. Just, West Cornwall

Attractive, dog friendly, self-catering holiday cottage with free wifi access in St Just, West Cornwall

Banjo Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage that sleeps 4 and is located in a quiet residential street in the centre of St Just in Penwith, the most westerly town in Cornwall.

“Banjo Cottage is the best. Such a friendly and caring welcome.
Cosy, comfortable and well equipped.”

All around you is historic tin mining country, now designated a World Heritage Centre. From the cottage, a short walk downhill takes you through farmland to Cape Cornwall, one of only two Capes in mainland Britain. Inshore fishing boats still work out of Priest’s Cove.

The South West Coastal Path stretches North and South along some of the most beautiful cliffs in the land, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here you will recognise much of the scenic back drop to BBC TV’s ‘Poldark’.

“Between the town of St Just in Penwith and the village of Pendeen, Botallack Mine doubles for Ross Poldark’s mine in the BBC series. Spectacularly situated on the side of a cliff edge overlooking the sea, these engine houses were built during the mid-1800s at the height of the Cornish mining boom. “We filmed in some of the most iconic mining locations and breathtaking landscapes in Cornwall,” explains series director Ed Bazalgette. Botallack mine sits next to Wheal Crowns, and the UNESCO protected site can be seen on a coastal walk along the cliff edge.” The Radio Times
